ABSTRACT |
Primary malignant melanoma is extremely rare and almost raises from head & neck skin. It's incidence is about 3.5% of all malignancy in the body, and relatively rare in nose and paranasal sinuses. Since Viennois have reported the first case of malignant melanoma of the nose, about 200 cases have been reported mostly in western literature, and about 10 cases are reported in Korea up to date. The authors have recently experienced a case of primary malignant melanoma originated from the nasal septum and extended into the nasal cavity, and treated by extirpation of total external nose with good result. We report a case of primary malignant melanoma on the nose of 52 years old male patient with review of literature.
