ABSTRACT

Tumors originating from the nerve sheath are relatively rare, but it was first described by Verocay in 1910 and named neurinoma. In 1935, Stout termed neurilemmoma and it is now generally accepted. A neurilemmoma is benign tumor and may be originated from all kinds of cranial and peripheral nerves, but about 25% of all neurilemmoma was originated in the vicinity of the head and neck. The authors recently experienced three cases of neurilemmoma which originated from the epiglottis and aryepiglottic fold of the larynx, lateral pharyngeal wall and submental region.
