A Case of Primary Malignant Melanoma on Nasopharynx

ABSTRACT

Primary malignant melanoma is extremely rare. It's incidence is about 3.5% of all malignancy in the body, and relatively rare in nose and nasopharynx. Since Viennois have reported the first case of malignant melanoma of the nose, about 200 cases have been reported mostly in western literature, and about 11 cases are reported in korea up to date. The authors have recently experienced a case of primary malignant melanoma on nasopharynx an treated by irradiation, DTIC and BCG. The patient was died from metastasis to the both lung. We reported a case of primary malignant melanoma on nasopharynx of 52 years old male patient with review of literature.
