ABSTRACT |
Malignant melanomas arising from the mucosal areas of the head and neck are rare. They are extremly rare in the laryngeal and pharyngeal region. Slightly more than 20 cases have been reported in world literature after Hilterman(1908) who described first case of primary malignant melanoma in the epiglottis. Recently, the authors experienced a case of primary malignant melanoma of the hypopharynx in a 62-years old male who was admitted the department of otolaryngology of Wonju Christian Hospital because of dyspnea and foreign body sensation of the hypopharynx. Here, We present this case with review of the literatures.
