ABSTRACT |
The Kinds and numbers of offending allergens were important for immunotherapy in patients with allergic rhinitis. On the basis of symptoms, ENR(eosinophilic nonallergic rhinitis) is indistinguishable from allergic rhinitis, ENR has no evidence of allergy except nasal eosinophilia. Skin test and eosinophil count in nasal secretion were performed with 287 cases of allergic rhinitis at Allergy clinic of Hanil Hospital during a period of one year and two months from July, 1988 till August, 1989. The results were as follows ; 1) The proportion of positive skin reactions with more than 8 kinds of allergens was 36.2%. 2) Most common offending allergens were house dust mite, house dust, cat fur, A1, mixed threshing, mixed feathers, dog hair, rabbit fur, hay dust and shrimp. 3) The skin test positivity in patients with nasal eosinophilia was 86.4%. 4) The prevalence of eosinophilic nonallergic rhinitis was 4.9%.
