| ABSTRACT |
|
Dentigerous cyst is a rare disease associated with a completed crown of an unerupted or impacted tooth. This cyst is thought to originate from accumulation of fluid between the reduced-enamel epithelium and the completed tooth crown. The development of a carcinoma or ameloblastoma in the wall of these cysts has been well documented. Therefore correct diagnosis and proper management are very important. The authors have experienced a case of infected dentigerous cysts with foreign bodies in a 59-year-old female patient. The cyst was removed successfully by means of enucleation through the Caldwell-Luc approach.
