ABSTRACT |
Paraganglioma is a rare benign tumor arising form paraganglionic tissue embryologically derived from the neural crest. Carotid body tumor is the most common, occupying 60-70% of the tumor. The vagal body paraganglioma is the second most common and located with or adjacent to the vagus nerve. The correct diagnosis, extraordinary judgement and skill is required to avoid disastrous complications of surgery. Recently the authors experienced a case of bilateral paraganglima (left : carotid body, right : vagal body) and report the case with review of literatures.
