ABSTRACT |
Lobular capillary hemangioma is perhaps the most common acquired vascular neoplasm. This distinctive vascular proliferation most commonly involves the skin and is known to be the underlying vascular anomaly of so-called pyogenic granuloma. Lobular capillary hemangioma, or pyogenic granuloma is encountered by otolaryngologist because it may occur on the lip, tongue, oral mucosa, or nasal mucosa. Twenty-four patients with Lobular capillary hemangioma have seen since 1986. We reviewed patient's charts and histopathologic slides, retrospectively. There were 14 females and 10 males in the series, ranging in age 9 to 67 years(mean age 44.4). The locations, were oral mucosa in 16 cases, nasal mucosa in 5 cases, skin in 2 cases. The size of masses was mostly about 0.5cm and the most common configuration of masses was sessile in 70.8%. 22 patients(91.6%) were treated by simple excision and electrocauterization, 2 recurred patients were treated by reoperations.
