ABSTRACT

In 1990, Parnes developed new technique of posterior semicircular canal occlusion in order to relieve the intractable benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV). Recently, we have experienced a patient with intractable BPPV and performed Parnes's technique. The positional vertiginous attack was completely relieved by surgery. We feel this new technique provides easier, safe and less risky alternative to singular neurectomy.

Keywords: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigoPosterior semicircular canal occlusion.
