The diagnosis of allergic rhinitis usually involves a patient history, physical examination, x-ray study, nasal smear, blood eosinophil count, serum IgE level, skin tests, and RAST. Recently, new developed chemiluminescent assay has been used for the determination of serum specific IgE. The aim of this study is to evaluate multiple allergosorbent test chemiluminescent assay (MAST CLA) system and to compare the results with those obtained by skin tests in 49 patients with allergic rhinitis symptoms.
