ABSTRACT |
A cylindrical cell papilloma of the nasal cavity and the paranasal sinus is very rare case in the clinic. It occurs mainly in the maxillary sinus, ethmoid sinus and sometimes in nasal vestibule, and nasal srptum. It occurs almost in males in sixth decades. It, although benign in nature, extends beyond its site of origin, tends to destroy bone, recurs when not excised completely, and may be associated with malignant tumor. Common symptoms are nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, headache(especially unilateral), postnasal drip, and nasal stuffiness. Recently, the authors experienced a case of cylindrical cell papilloma arising from right maxillary sinus in a 44 year-old man with the chief complaint of nasal obstruction with headache.
