ABSTRACT

Intracordal cyst is not a rare cause of hoarseness. But It has been overlooked and misdiagnosed as vocal polyp, vocal nodule or Reinke's edema. In the past, it is treated only incision and suction. In this study seven cases of intracordal cyst was diagnosed and three cases were removed completely, three cases were perfomed only incision and suction. Videolaryngoscopy was very useful to evaluate the disease pre and postoperatively. Maximum Phonation time(MPT) and range of fundmental frequency(Fo) were good objective parmeters of voice improvement postoperatively. We thought that complete surgical removal without rupture after careful preoperative videolaryngoscopy was treatment of choice. If complete removal is impossible regular follow up and close observation after incision and suction is recommended.
