A Case of the Elongated Styloid Process |

ABSTRACT |
The elongated styloid process is rare in disease. The elongated styloid process can be divided into two group. One having relation to the tonsillectomy and the other relation to the carotid artery. Recently, the auther have experienced a case of the elongated styloid process in the right tonsillar fossa during the tonsillectomy accompanied with foreign body sensation in the pharynx, otalgia, headache for about 3 years in duration. The elongated styloid process was resected gently under local anesthesea which was 2 cm in length. Thereafter subsided of the symptoms postoperatively without any complications.
