ABSTRACT

For the histopathological diagnosis, customarilly the tissue biopsy has been performed with surgical incision and it has been well known that there have been numerous disadvantages such as the destruction of the surrounding normal tissue and organs, scar formation, bleeding, and prolonged wound healing. In the literature, Silverman's needle has been widely used in the biopsy of the liver, bone marrow, spleen and the pleura. But there is no reports about Silverman's needle biopsy in the otorhinolaryngological field. The author experienced this technic and obtained good results.
