A Study of Standard Korean Words List for Speech Discrimination Test - Prelimination Report - |

ABSTRACT |
It has been well known that scores of speech discrimination test are very variable depends upon individual knowledges, dialects and contents of test words, and many investigators has studied to lessen such defective factors in speech test. This study also carried to find a more effective word list in discrimination test. The author collected 50 meaningless monosyllables (word list A) from primary school national language textbook in order of frequency, and this A list were divided into
A1 and A2 lists by simply changing their arrangements. Another 50 monosyllabic words were collected in the same textbook according to their frequenceis of initial consonants and vowels (word list B) and it was again divided into
B1 and B2 lists by changing their arrangements. These different four word lists were recorded in tape by a healthy and good speaker, then applied to 60 high school students with normal hearing by puretone audiometry. The results are follows : 1) Scores of the each list are 87.63% in
A1 list, 87.80% in A2 list and 86.13% in B1 list, 88.31% in
B2 list. 2) There is no significant difference statistically between the articulation scores of
A1 and A2 list, B1 and B2 list. 3) Statistically there is no significant difference between the articulation scores of A
(A1 and A2) list and B (B1 and B2) list.
