ABSTRACT

Nasal polyposis is the most common condition of nasal tumor but the exact explanation of polyp formation remains debatable. Several decades ago it was thought that all polyps resulted from chronic nasal sepsis and more recently the allergic theory took precedence. Recently, we have experienced a huge choanal polyp in a 75-year-old male patient whose chief complaint was nasal obstruction, watery rhinorrhea and foreign body sensation in the pharynx. Polyp was removed successfully with polyp snare and it was 35gm in weight and 7.5×4.3×3cm in dimension. After removal of polyp mass, septal perforation of the anterior portion of the nasal septum was also noted.
