ABSTRACT |
The elongated styloid process is rare. The styloid syndrome which is induced by elongated styloid process is more rare. The syndrome was first described by Eagle in 1937. Most patient with elongated styloid process ramain asymptomatic, but some patients complain sore throat, dysphagia, and referred otalgia. These symptoms are secondary to physical compression of the nerves and vessels which pass close to the tip of the styloid process. Recently, we have experienced a case of the elongated styloid process.
