ABSTRACT

Author observed 15 cases having otological symptoms which developed or aggrevated during pregnancy or puerperium and received following conclusions. 1) Many cases occurred at first pregnancy and had certain diseases during pregnancy or puerperium. 2) Acute type occurred at any time of prenancy and puerperium but chronic type was many in puerperium period. 3) In hearing loss, acute type showed unilateral but many variation, and chronic type showed bilateral symmetrical high tone deafness. Repetitious type had mild deafness and recovered after delivery. 4) Almost all cases had tinnitus and vertigo. 5) Author suspected that acute type has perhaps a relation to sudden deafness and chronic to hereditary tendency.
