ABSTRACT

Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a malignant slow growing tumor usually recognized by biopsy. It is found most commonly in the salivary glands but occasionally arising in the lacrimal glands or from the mucous membranel of the mouth, respiratory tract and rarely in other glandular tissue of the head and neck. Recently authors experienced a case of adenoid cystic carcinoma arising from left nasal septum in a 43-year-old female. The patient visited our hospital with the chief complaints of intermittent bloody nasal discharge and nasal stuffiness for 3 years and the above symptoms were more aggrevated since 2 years ago. Histopathologic examination of the mass revealed adenoid cystic carcinoma and lateral rhinotomy with wide surgical resection of the mass was performed. We report this case with literatural reviews.
