ABSTRACT |
During the past 21 years, the authors figured out clinical statistics of 94 cases of the laryngeal cancer from 1960 to 1980 at Department of Otolaryngology, National Medical Center, Seoul. The following results were obtained : 1) Sex ratio of male to female was 8.4 : 1. 2) Majority of patients were over the 6 decade and average age was 57.0 years of age. 3) The location of the laryngeal cancer were glottis and supraglottis. 4) The laryngeal cancer were metastasis to cervical lymph node. 5) The histopathological distribution of the laryngeal cancer was as follows : Squamous cell carcinoma 89 cases, Adenocarcinoma 2 cases, Malignant fibrosarocoma 1 case, Undifferentiated carcinoma 2 cases. 6) The chief complaints were hoarseness, dysphagia and dyspnea. 7) About half of the cases had visited the department of otolaryngology, National Medical Center, within 6 months after onset.
