ABSTRACT

Neurilemmoma is a relatively uncommon benign tumor. The site of origin is believed to be the ectodermal Schwann cells of the nerve sheath, therefore, it is always found in association with a nerve. It arises most commonly from the acoustic nerve on E.N.T. field as a acoustic neuroma but rarely from hard palate. We have experienced a case of neurilemmoma of the hard palate. The patient was 16 year old male who had noticed a gradual enlarged mass on the left hard palate. The tumor was completely removed under local anesthesia via transoral approach and verified histopathologically as neurilemmoma of the hard palate.
