ABSTRACT

Odontogenic tumors are neoplasms that arise from the dental lamina or any of its derivatives. According to Bhaskar, odontogenic tumors comprise about 9.0% of all tumors of the oral cavity in the United States. Broca first classified odontogenic tumors in 1868 since his first report a variety of other classifications have been proposed. For 6 years 1978 to 1983, the authors experienced 8 cases of odontogenic tumors which were analyzed ameloblastoma(6), cementifying fibroma(1), and adenomatoid odontogenic tumor(1).
