ABSTRACT

The most common tracheostoma problem following total laryngectomy is stenosis. The best management is the prevention of stenosis at the time of laryngectomy, and there are important to construct large tracheostoma by meticulous approximation of the tracheal mucosa to skin after performing oval split tracheal stoma and prevent local infection. The corrective method of the tracheostoma stenosis is a stomaplasty using lateral skin flap, rotation skin flap, Z-plasty and so on. The authors was recently experienced 3 cases of the tracheostoma stenosis following total laryngectomy and these were corrected to perform a stomaplasty using lateral skin flaps, so we report these cases with review of literatures.
