A Case of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Middle Ear

ABSTRACT

The authors experienced a rare case of the squamous cell carcinoma of the middle ear. A 44 years old Korean male admitted to Inje University Hospital due to left otalgia, left facial nerve paralysis and bilateral hearing distrubance. He had been suffered from bilateral otorrhea and hearing disturbance for 15 years. The radical mastoidectomy was performed and the findings were similar to malignancy. The pathologic result was squamous cell carcinoma. Two weeks later, the radiotherapy started. The follow-up had been performed at OPD for 2 year. So, the authors report a rare of squamous cell carcinoma of the middle ear with literature review.
