Pharyngoesophageal Reconstruction with Forearm Free Flap

ABSTRACT

With the development of microvascular surgery recently, the forearm free flap has provided to be a reliable versatile for the reconstruction of the head and neck. Much of this reliability results from the constant vascular pattern of the forearm and large size of vessels, which greatly simplify the technical aspects of microvascular surgery. This paper presents our clinical experience of 8 patients in whom the forearm free flap has been used in pharyngoesophageal reconstruction.
