Five Cases of Herpes Zoster Oticus

ABSTRACT

Author experienced clinically five cases of Herpes Zoster Oticus in the three years period from 1969 up to date. All patients were male and consisted four adults and one child. All patients complained of otalgia with multiple blisters on the anterior surface of auricle and three complained of servere vertigo and tinnitus. Four cases were associated with facial paralysis on the affected side. All patient include four cases of facial paralysis were recovered with antibiotics, prednisolone and physical therapy within two-four weeks from initial treatment except one.
