ABSTRACT

Fungal infection of paranasal sinuses appears to be relatively rare in occurance, but the incidence of fungal sinusitis is increasing, which may be due to the increasing use of antibiotics, steroid hormones, and anticancer drugs, increased survival of diabetes mellitus patients, and development of accurate diagnostic methods. From October 1989 to January 1992, 28 cases of fungal sinusitis of total 3,360 cases of endoscopic surgery in ENT department of Koryo General Hospital was diagnosed by systemic nasal endoscopy and CT were treated successfully by endoscopic surgery.
